Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of recovery program which works to treat substance abuse problems and mental health issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the individual in treatment participates in various recovery activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for addicted persons who may not be able to afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for extended periods of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals take part in standard counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health problems which could prevent them from staying sober once treatment is complete.

Deaf or hearing impaired persons will require ASL or other assistance as part of their treatment needs, and there are drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers available which provide these services. Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug and alcohol treatment facilities are an excellent alternative to other types of rehabilitation facilities i.e. private medical insurance and state funded programs. People who are able to attend self payment programs pay for their entire rehabilitation process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug or alcohol rehab program. To learn more about self payment at a specific program, contact a drug rehab center and ask about their payment options. It is a good idea to contact a number of programs so that you have an understanding of your choices regarding rehab options and payment options.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is offered to individuals in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid depends greatly on income and other circumstances such as whether or not the person has dependents and if they receive any other financial assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug rehab, and there are a lot of drug treatment programs throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only deliver such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. People who have Medicaid should explore which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full benefits of such a program.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

When somebody is abusing drugs or alcohol and is looking for help, there are many effective drug treatment facilities accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term rehab facilities accept private health insurance, far more effective drug or alcohol treatment facilities which offer an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These programs which accept private health insurance can vary in terms of treatment curriculum, but those individuals who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to paying for a drug treatment program. For more information, consult with an addiction specialist at a drug or alcohol rehab center in your area to find out which programs your private health insurance will cover.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many drug rehab centers in the United States offer payment assistance to men and women having difficulties with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The individual in need of treatment can choose a rehab program which ideally fits their situation, meaning the treatment plan and design of the program would offer them the best results. The addicted individual can then seek advice from one of the treatment professionals at the drug treatment program to find out what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug rehab facilities are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the individual to locate an equivalent or similar treatment program which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can get the rehabilitation they so desperately need.
