Detoxification

Detoxification is normally the first step in getting off drugs. It makes it possible for a person to be in a supervised environment while they go through withdrawal symptoms for drugs and/or alcohol. There are different types of detoxification. Theyrange from drug-free to medically supervised. A common mistake that many addicts make is to assume that detox is sufficient to kick their habit. This is rarely the case. All detox does is get somebody through the withdrawal when they stop using. It is always recommended that detox be followed up with some type of treatment plan to find out the root of why somebody was using drugs in the first place.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug rehabilitation services which are offered on an outpatient basis are available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehab center. An outpatient drug treatment facility provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug or alcohol treatment program where the person is required to remain at the treatment program until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug rehab is also offered for individuals who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but also need a thorough aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide additional support and treatment to help them avoid relapse.

Specialized in Hearing Impaired Clients

Individuals can become addicted to drugs no matter their handicap, disability or personal physical challenge. This sometimes makes individuals particularly more vulnerable to becoming involved in drug or alcohol use, because of the varying challenges that this can bring about in the person's life. This is true for individuals in the deaf and hearing impaired community as well, and treatment for substance abuse and addiction is sometimes necessary. Deaf or hearing impaired individuals will require ASL or other assistance as part of their treatment needs, and there are drug and alcohol rehab programs available which provide these services. Professional treatment counselors who know ASL and can offer other necessary assistance to deaf or hearing impaired substance abusers.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers are an excellent alternative to other types of rehabilitation centers i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. Individuals who are capable of attending self payment programs pay for their entire rehab process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their substance abuse rehabilitation program. To learn more about self payment at a specific program, contact a drug or alcohol rehabilitation center and ask about their payment options. It is a good idea to contact a number of programs so that you have an understanding of your choices regarding treatment options and payment options.

State Financed Insurance besides Medicaid

Some people are covered through state financed insurance because they do not qualify for Medicaid. Some states however offer state financed health insurance to those who cannot afford private health insurance. State financed health insurance programs will in some cases cover the costs associated with substance abuse treatment at a variety of drug and alcohol rehab facilities around the country. State financed insurance other than Medicaid may cover both outpatient or inpatient substance abuse rehabilitation providers. To find out which rehab programs will accept state financed insurance, consult a drug and alcohol treatment advisor.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

If a person is abusing drugs or alcohol and is looking for help, many effective drug treatment programs accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term programs accept private health insurance, far more effective drug treatment programs which require an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These programs which accept private health insurance can vary in terms of treatment curriculum, but those individuals who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to attending a drug rehabilitation program. For more information, speak with with an addiction specialist at a substance abuse rehabilitation center in your area to find out which services your private health insurance will cover.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug or alcohol treatment can be a challenge, because typically all resources have been exhausted due to their addiction. Many drug treatment facilities fully grasp this fact which is why many drug rehabilitation programs across the nation provide payment arrangements known as a sliding scale fee. There are various variables put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug rehabilitation facilities would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those that need addiction help can receive the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many substance abuse rehab facilities in the United States provide payment assistance to individuals struggling with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The individual in need of rehabilitation can choose a rehab program which is a good fit, meaning the treatment plan and design of the program will provide them the best results. The addicted individual can then talk to one of the treatment professionals at the drug or alcohol rehab center to go over what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug rehabilitation programs are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the person to find an equivalent or similar rehab facility which is more affordable or that can provide workable financing options so that they can acquire the help they so desperately need.
