Outpatient Treatment

Drug rehabilitation services which are offered on an outpatient basis are available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient treatment program. An outpatient drug rehabilitation center delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab facility where the person is required to stay and reside at the rehab program until treatment is complete. Outpatient drug or alcohol treatment is also available for those who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but require a comprehensive aftercare program which will provide additional support and treatment to help them avoid relapse.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug rehab facilities are a great alternative to other types of rehab centers i.e. private medical insurance and state funded programs. Individuals who are able to attend self payment programs pay for their entire treatment process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their substance abuse rehabilitation program. To learn more about self payment programs, make contact with a drug rehab center and inquire as to their payment options. It is beneficial to contact a number of programs so that you have an understanding of your choices regarding rehab options and payment options.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is made available to individuals in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other factors including whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may possibly even cover the costs associated with drug or alcohol rehab, and there are a lot of drug and alcohol rehab facilities throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Many drug and alcohol treatment facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only deliver a limited treatment curriculum and may only supply such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. People who have Medicaid should explore which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full rewards of a Medicaid rehab program.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

When an individual is abusing drugs or alcohol and is looking for help, many effective substance abuse treatment programs accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term rehab facilities accept private health insurance, far more beneficial drug or alcohol treatment facilities which require an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These rehab facilities which accept private health insurance can vary in terms of treatment curriculum, but those clients who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to paying for a drug or alcohol rehab facility. For additional information, speak with with a treatment professional at a drug treatment center in your area to find out which programs your private health insurance will cover.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug rehab can be a challenge, as all resources have been exhausted because of the persons addiction. Many drug treatment programs understand this reality which is why many drug and alcohol rehab facilities around the country offer payment arrangements known as a sliding scale fee. There are various variables put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug and alcohol treatment facilities would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those that need addiction help can acquire the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many substance abuse rehab facilities in the United States offer payment assistance to men and women struggling with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The person in need of treatment can select a rehabilitation facility which is a good fit, meaning the treatment curriculum and design of the program would provide them the best results. The addicted individual can then seek advice from one of the treatment professionals at the drug rehabilitation center to go over what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug rehabilitation centers are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the individual to locate an equivalent or similar treatment facility which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can acquire the help they so desperately need.
