Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of rehabilitation program which works to treat substance abuse problems and mental health issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the individual in treatment takes part in various recovery activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be beneficial for addicted persons who cannot afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for extended periods of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in standard counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health troubles which could prevent them from making progress and obtaining gains throughout the treatment process.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment substance abuse treatment facilities are an excellent alternative to other types of rehab facilities i.e. private medical insurance and state funded programs. Individuals who are able to attend self payment programs pay for their entire rehabilitation process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their substance abuse treatment program. To learn more about self payment at a specific program, make contact with a drug rehab center and inquire as to their payment options. It is a good idea to contact a number of facilities so that you have an understanding of your choices regarding treatment options and payment options.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is made available to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other circumstances such as whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug or alcohol rehab, and there are many drug rehabilitation programs throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug and alcohol rehab facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only deliver such treatment on a short term basis, typically 30 days or less. Individuals who have Medicaid should explore which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to acquire the full rewards of a Medicaid rehab program.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug or alcohol rehabilitation can be a challenge, as all resources have been exhausted due to their drug habit. Many drug rehab facilities fully grasp this fact which is why many drug rehabilitation programs across the nation offer payment options known as a sliding scale fee. There are several variables put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those that need addiction help can receive the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many drug and alcohol rehab centers in the United States offer payment assistance to men and women struggling with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The person in need of treatment can choose a rehab program which ideally fits their situation, meaning the treatment plan and design of the program would provide them the best results. The addicted individual can then consult with one of the treatment professionals at the drug rehab program to find out what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug rehab programs are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will often work with the individual to locate an equivalent or similar treatment facility which is more affordable or that can provide workable financing options so that they can receive the rehabilitation they so desperately need.
