Limited Hospitalization/Day Treatment Programs

Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of rehabilitation program which works to treat substance abuse issues and mental health issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in treatment takes part in a variety of recovery activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening. This takes place anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the seriousness of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be beneficial for addicted persons who cannot afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, clients take part in standard counseling and therapy for addiction issues while also addressing mental health issues which could keep them from making progress and obtaining gains throughout the treatment process.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug and alcohol treatment programs are a great alternative to other types of treatment programs i.e. private medical insurance and state funded programs. People who are able to attend self payment programs pay for their entire rehab process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug rehabilitation program. In order to learn more about self payment at a specific program, make contact with a substance abuse rehabilitation program and ask about their payment options. It is beneficial to contact several programs so that you have a comparison of your choices regarding rehab options and payment methods.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug or alcohol treatment can be a challenge, as all resources have been exhausted because of their drug habit. Many drug rehab programs understand this fact which is why many drug treatment facilities around the country provide payment options known as a sliding scale fee. There are many variables put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug and alcohol treatment programs would prefer to find a way to make it work financially so that those suffering with addiction can acquire the help they need.
