Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol treatment services which are delivered on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehabilitation program. An outpatient drug and alcohol treatment center delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehabilitation facility where the individual is required to remain at the rehab program until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug rehabilitation is also available for individuals who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but also need a thorough aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide further support and treatment to help them remain clean and sober.

Specialized in Hearing Impaired Clients

People can become addicted to drugs no matter their handicap, disability or personal physical challenge. This sometimes makes people particularly more vulnerable to becoming involved in drug or alcohol use, because of the various challenges that this can bring about in the person's life. This is true for those people in the deaf and hearing impaired community as well, and treatment for substance abuse and addiction is sometimes needed. Deaf or hearing impaired persons will require ASL or other assistance as part of their treatment needs, and there are drug and alcohol treatment centers available which provide these services. Professional substance abuse counselors who know ASL and can offer other necessary assistance to deaf or hearing impaired substance abusers.

There increasing numbers of Spanish speaking clients walking into drug rehabilitation centers every day needing help. Because Spanish is such a prevalent language in this country, many substance abuse treatment facilities are capable of providing treatment to Spanish speaking people. Additionally, many treatment professionals make it a point to learn the language so as to be able to provide the support and care needed for Spanish speaking individuals.

Other Language Programs

People who speak other languages, other than English that is, should be able to receive drug or alcohol rehabilitation which is on par with English speakers. Those who speak other languages should not feel that their treatment curriculum or treatment setting is going to be any less effective because they don't speak English. There are quite a few drug rehab programs available which provide services to those who speak foreign languages, all of which provide a selection of programs to choose from. For example, some drug and alcohol rehab programs which provide services for individuals who speak other languages are only short term rehab facilities, and others are longer term programs. Foreign language speakers should seek the advice from a treatment professional in their area to choose a drug or alcohol rehab facility that provides rehabilitation services in their specific language.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug treatment programs are an outstanding alternative to other types of rehab facilities i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. People who are able to attend self payment programs pay for their entire rehab process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their substance abuse rehabilitation program. In order to learn more about self payment at a specific program, make contact with a drug or alcohol rehabilitation facility and inquire as to their payment options. It is beneficial to contact several facilities so that you have an understanding of your choices with regards to rehab options and payment methods.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is accessible to individuals in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other factors such as whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other financial assistance. Medicaid may possibly even cover the costs associated with drug or alcohol treatment, and there are many drug and alcohol rehab facilities throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug rehab facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only provide such treatment on a short term basis, typically 30 days or less. People who have Medicaid should explore which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to acquire the full benefits of a Medicaid rehab program.

Some states however offer state financed health insurance to those who cannot afford private health insurance. State financed health insurance programs will sometimes cover the costs associated with substance abuse treatment at a variety of drug treatment centers around the country. State financed insurance other than Medicaid may cover both outpatient or inpatient drug rehabilitation services. To find out which rehab facilities will accept state financed insurance, consult a drug and alcohol treatment specialist.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

When a person is abusing drugs or alcohol and is looking for help, many effective substance abuse rehab facilities accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term programs accept private health insurance, far more beneficial drug rehab centers which provide an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These rehab facilities which accept private health insurance can vary in terms of treatment curriculum, but those people who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to attending a drug or alcohol rehabilitation program. For more information, consult with a treatment professional at a substance abuse treatment center in your area to see which programs your private health insurance will cover.
