Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol rehab programs which are offered on an outpatient basis are available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehabilitation program. An outpatient drug rehabilitation facility delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehabilitation facility where the person is required to remain at the treatment program until the treatment process has been fully completed. Outpatient drug rehab is also available for those who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but also need a thorough aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide additional support and treatment to help them avoid relapse.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment substance abuse rehabilitation centers are an excellent alternative to other types of rehab programs i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. Individuals who are capable of attending self payment programs pay for their entire rehab process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug treatment program. In order to learn more about self payment programs, make contact with a drug rehab program and inquire as to their payment options. It is a good idea to contact a number of facilities so that you have an understanding of your choices regarding rehab options and payment options.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is accessible to individuals in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other circumstances such as whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may possibly even cover the costs associated with drug treatment, and there are many drug treatment facilities throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only supply such treatment on a short term basis, typically 30 days or less. Individuals who have Medicaid should look for which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to acquire the full rewards of such a program.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug treatment can be a problem, as all resources have been exhausted due to the persons drug habit. Many drug rehab programs recognize this reality which is why many drug treatment facilities across the nation provide payment options known as a sliding scale fee. There are many variables put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug treatment programs would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those that need addiction help can get the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many substance abuse treatment centers in the United States offer payment assistance to men and women having difficulties with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The individual in need of treatment can select a rehabilitation facility which ideally fits their situation, meaning the treatment curriculum and design of the program would provide them the best results. The addicted individual can then seek advice from one of the treatment professionals at the drug rehab facility to find out what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug and alcohol treatment facilities are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the person to find an equivalent or similar rehabilitation facility which is more affordable or that can provide workable financing options so that they can receive the help they so desperately need.
