Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol rehab programs which are offered on an outpatient basis are available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehabilitation program. An outpatient drug rehabilitation facility delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehabilitation facility where the person is required to remain at the treatment program until the treatment process has been fully completed. Outpatient drug rehab is also available for those who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but also need a thorough aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide additional support and treatment to help them avoid relapse.

Co-Occurring Mental with Substance Abuse Issues

Persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders must handle both issues if there is any hope for them to become fully rehabilitated. Some individuals take drugs to relieve symptoms of mental health problems, and some individuals take drugs which then, in turn, brings about symptoms which mimic mental health disorders, such as anxiety and depression. Drug rehabilitation professionals know how to differentiate between the two, and can work with clients to properly treat real mental health disorders in tandem with any other substance abuse treatment that is done with the individual. This has proven to be effective in keeping individuals with mental health issues off of drugs and alcohol and mentally stable and healthy.

Specialized in Hearing Impaired Clients

People can become addicted to drugs no matter their handicap, disability or personal physical challenge. This sometimes makes people particularly more susceptible to becoming involved in substance abuse, because of the difficult challenges that this can bring about in the person's life. This is true for individuals in the deaf and hearing impaired community as well, and treatment for substance abuse and addiction is sometimes necessary. Deaf or hearing impaired individuals will require ASL or other assistance as part of their treatment needs, and there are drug and alcohol rehab centers available which cater to these needs. Professional treatment counselors who know ASL and can provide other necessary assistance to deaf or hearing impaired substance abusers.

There are more and more Spanish speaking clients enrolling into drug and alcohol rehab programs every day needing help. Because Spanish is such a common language in this country, many drug and alcohol rehab programs are capable of providing treatment to Spanish speaking individuals. Additionally, many treatment professionals make it a point to learn the language so as to be able to provide the support and care needed for Spanish speaking people.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is offered to individuals in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other circumstances including whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug treatment, and there are a lot of drug and alcohol treatment facilities throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Many drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs which are covered through Medicaid may only deliver a limited treatment curriculum and may only supply such treatment on a short term basis, typically 30 days or less. Individuals who have Medicaid should look for which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full benefits of such a program.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many substance abuse rehabilitation facilities in the United States offer payment assistance to people having difficulties with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The person in need of rehabilitation can choose a rehab program which is a good fit, meaning the treatment curriculum and design of the program would offer them the best results. The addicted person can then consult with one of the treatment professionals at the drug or alcohol treatment center to discuss what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug and alcohol rehab programs are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the person to find an equivalent or similar treatment program which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can get the rehabilitation they so desperately need.
