Hospital Inpatient Programs

Hospital inpatient drug or alcohol rehabilitation is done in a hospital or similar setting and is supervised by doctors and other medical staff. Hospital inpatient treatment is sometimes necessary in the beginning stages of abstinence when the client may encounter the onset of medically dangerous withdrawal symptoms, which is sometimes the case when quitting alcohol as well as a category of prescription drugs known as benzodiazepines which should be monitored very carefully by medical professionals in case of any complications. Hospital inpatient treatment is also administered to individuals who choose to undergo medication assisted withdrawal, as is the case with opiate addicted individuals who wish to use this type of detox approach to manage the severe withdrawal symptoms associated with heroin or other opiate withdrawal. This type of opiate detoxification is not treatment in itself however, and these individuals will need further counseling and therapy to entirely recover from addiction.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug treatment services which are provided on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehab program. An outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation center offers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehabilitation facility where the individual is required to stay and reside at the treatment center until the treatment process has been fully completed. Outpatient drug or alcohol treatment is also offered for those who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but require a thorough aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide further support and therapy to help them remain clean and sober.

Specialized in Hearing Impaired Clients

Individuals can become addicted to drugs or alcohol no matter their handicap, disability or personal physical challenge. This sometimes makes individuals particularly more vulnerable to becoming involved in drug or alcohol use, because of the various challenges that this can bring about in the individual's life. This is true for individuals in the deaf and hearing impaired community as well, and treatment for substance abuse and addiction is sometimes necessary. Deaf or hearing impaired persons will require ASL or other assistance as part of their treatment needs, and there are drug rehab facilities available which provide these services. Professional substance abuse counselors who know ASL and can provide other necessary assistance to deaf or hearing impaired substance abusers.

Additionally, many treatment professionals make it a point to learn the language so as to be able to provide the treatment and care needed for Spanish speaking clients.

Other Language Programs

Individuals who speak other languages, other than English that is, should receive substance abuse rehabilitation which is on par with English speakers. Speakers of other languages should not feel that their treatment curriculum or treatment setting is going to be any less effective because they don't speak English. There are quite a few substance abuse rehabilitation programs available which cater to those who speak foreign languages, all of which provide a selection of programs to choose from. For example, some substance abuse rehabilitation facilities which can treat individuals who speak other languages are only short term programs, and others are longer term programs. Foreign language speakers can consult with an addiction professional in their area to choose a drug treatment program which would be suitable to their needs.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is made available to individuals in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid depends greatly on income and other factors including whether or not the person has dependents and if they receive any other financial assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug treatment, and there are many drug and alcohol treatment facilities throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Many drug rehab facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only deliver a limited treatment curriculum and may only supply such treatment on a short term basis, typically 30 days or less. Individuals who have Medicaid should research which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to acquire the full benefits of such a program.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

If an individual is abusing drugs or alcohol and is seeking help, many effective substance abuse rehabilitation facilities accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term programs accept private health insurance, far more effective substance abuse treatment centers which offer an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These rehab facilities which accept private health insurance can differ in terms of treatment curriculum, but those people who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to attending a drug rehab program. For more information, consult with a treatment professional at a drug or alcohol treatment program in your area to find out which services your private health insurance will cover.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many drug treatment programs in the United States provide payment assistance to individuals suffering with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The person in need of treatment can select a rehab facility which is a good fit, meaning the treatment plan and design of the program will offer them the best results. The addicted individual can then talk to one of the treatment professionals at the drug or alcohol rehab center to go over what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug rehabilitation facilities are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the person to locate an equivalent or comparable treatment program which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can get the rehabilitation they so desperately need.
