Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol rehab programs which are provided on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehabilitation center. An outpatient drug treatment center offers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug or alcohol treatment center where the person is required to stay and reside at the treatment program until the treatment process is complete. Outpatient drug rehab is also available for those who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but require a thorough aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide additional support and treatment to help them remain clean and sober.

Co-Occurring Mental with Substance Abuse Issues

Persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders must handle both issues in order to recover completely. Some individuals take drugs or alcohol to ease symptoms of mental health complications, and some individuals take drugs which then, in turn, creates symptoms which mimic mental health disorders, such as depression and anxiety. Addiction rehabilitation professionals know how to distinguish between the two, and can work with clients to properly treat real mental health problems in tandem with any other substance abuse treatment that is done with the person. This has proven to be effective in keeping people with mental health disorders off of drugs and mentally stable and productive.

Specialized in Hearing Impaired Clients

Individuals can become addicted to drugs or alcohol no matter their handicap, disability or personal physical challenge. This sometimes makes individuals particularly more susceptible to becoming involved in drug or alcohol use, because of the varying challenges that this can bring about in the person's life. Deaf or hearing impaired persons will need ASL or other assistance as part of their treatment needs, and there are drug rehabilitation facilities available which provide these services. Professional treatment counselors who know ASL and can provide other necessary assistance to deaf or hearing impaired substance abusers.

Spanish Services

There increasing numbers of Spanish speaking clients walking into drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers every day needing help. Because Spanish is such a widespread language in this country, many substance abuse rehab programs are capable of providing treatment to Spanish speaking individuals. Additionally, many treatment professionals make it a point to learn the language so as to be able to provide the treatment and therapy needed for Spanish speaking individuals.

Other Language Programs

People who speak other languages, other than English that is, should receive drug or alcohol treatment which is on par with English speakers. Speakers of other languages should not feel that their treatment curriculum or treatment setting is going to be any less effective because they don't speak English. There are many drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs available which cater to those who speak foreign languages, all of which offer various programs to choose from. For example, some drug and alcohol rehab programs which provide services for individuals who speak other languages are only short term rehab facilities, but there are more long term options available. Foreign language speakers should seek the advice from a treatment professional in their area to choose a drug treatment program which would be suitable to their needs.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is offered to individuals in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other circumstances including whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug or alcohol rehabilitation, and there are a lot of drug and alcohol rehab programs throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug treatment facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only provide such treatment on a short term basis, typically 30 days or less. People who have Medicaid should look for which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full rewards of such a program.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many drug rehab facilities in the United States offer payment assistance to men and women struggling with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The person in need of rehabilitation can choose a rehab program which ideally fits their situation, meaning the treatment curriculum and design of the program will provide them the best results. The addicted individual can then talk to one of the treatment professionals at the drug or alcohol treatment center to discuss what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug rehabilitation programs are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the individual to find an equivalent or similar rehabilitation program which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can acquire the rehabilitation they so desperately need.
