Drug or alcohol rehab programs which are provided on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehabilitation center. An outpatient drug treatment center offers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug or alcohol treatment center where the person is required to stay and reside at the treatment program until the treatment process is complete. Outpatient drug rehab is also available for those who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but require a thorough aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide additional support and treatment to help them remain clean and sober.

Individuals can become addicted to drugs or alcohol no matter their handicap, disability or personal physical challenge. This sometimes makes people particularly more vulnerable to becoming involved in drug or alcohol use, because of the varying challenges that this can bring about in the individual's life. Military health insurance generally refers to TRICARE and is a commonly accepted insurance for specific drug treatment programs. A drug rehab that accepts military insurance will normally accept most other types of insurance as well. TRICARE usually covers detoxification, rehabilitation and outpatient treatment.
