  • Drug Overdose Facts
  • Hashish can be smoked as a cigarette (called a joint or a nail) or in a pipe or bong.
  • Fentanyl can be worn as a patch and can also be taken orally, but like heroin, it can also be smoked, snorted or injected.
  • Because OxyContin is commonly diverted for abuse, numerous states have introduced prescription monitoring and banned the sale of such prescription drugs over the internet.
  • Hashish users can experience an increased pulse and heart rate, bloodshot eyes, dilated pupils, and often increased appetite.
  • During the nineties rates of heroin use rose as heroin on the street became purer. The price stayed the same and more young and middle-class Americans began using the drug.

Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol rehab programs which are delivered on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient treatment program. An outpatient substance abuse rehab program offers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab center where the person is expected to stay and reside at the rehabilitation center until the treatment process is complete. Outpatient drug rehabilitation is also offered for individuals who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but also need a comprehensive aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide additional support and treatment to help them remain clean and sober.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment substance abuse rehab programs are an excellent alternative to other types of rehabilitation facilities i.e. private medical insurance and state funded programs. People who are able to attend self payment programs pay for their entire rehab process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug or alcohol treatment program. In order to learn more about self payment at a specific program, make contact with a substance abuse rehabilitation center and inquire as to their payment options. It is a good idea to contact several facilities so that you have a comparison of your choices regarding treatment options and payment options.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

When an individual is addicted to drugs or alcohol and is looking for help, many effective substance abuse rehabilitation programs accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term rehab facilities accept private health insurance, far more beneficial substance abuse treatment facilities which provide an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These rehab facilities which accept private health insurance can vary in terms of treatment curriculum, but those clients who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to paying for a drug treatment facility. For additional information, consult with a treatment professional at a drug or alcohol rehab program in your area to see which services your private health insurance will cover.
