Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol treatment programs which are delivered on an outpatient basis are available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient treatment facility. An outpatient substance abuse treatment program delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug or alcohol rehabilitation facility where the individual is required to stay and reside at the rehab center until the treatment process is complete. Outpatient drug treatment is also offered for individuals who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but require a thorough aftercare program which will offer additional support and therapy to help them avoid relapse.

Co-Occurring Mental with Substance Abuse Issues

Persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders must address both issues if there is any hope for them to recover completely. Some individuals take drugs or alcohol to alleviate symptoms of mental health problems, and some people take drugs which then, in turn, brings about symptoms which are identical to mental health disorders, such as depression and anxiety. Drug rehabilitation professionals know how to distinguish between the two, and can work with clients to properly treat real mental health problems in tandem with any other substance abuse treatment that is done with the individual. This has proven to be effective in keeping individuals with mental health issues off of drugs and mentally stable and healthy.

Individuals who speak other languages, other than English that is, should receive drug or alcohol treatment which is on par with English speakers. Those who speak other languages should not feel that their treatment opportunities are limited or inferior because they don't speak English. There are many drug and alcohol rehab centers available which provide services to those who speak foreign languages, all of which offer a selection of programs to choose from. For example, some drug rehabilitation programs which cater to individuals who speak other languages are only short term programs, and others are longer term programs. Foreign language speakers can seek the advice from a treatment professional in their area to choose a drug rehab program which would be suitable to their needs.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is made available to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid depends greatly on income and other circumstances including whether or not the person has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may possibly even cover the costs associated with drug treatment, and there are many drug rehabilitation programs throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Many drug treatment facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only provide such treatment on a short term basis, typically 30 days or less. People who have Medicaid should look for which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to acquire the full benefits of a Medicaid rehab program.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug or alcohol rehabilitation can be a challenge, because typically all resources have been exhausted because of the persons drug habit. Many drug rehab facilities recognize this fact which is why many drug treatment facilities around the country provide payment arrangements known as a sliding scale fee. There are several variables put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug rehabilitation programs would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those suffering with addiction can acquire the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many substance abuse rehab centers in the United States offer payment assistance to men and women having difficulties with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The person in need of rehabilitation can choose a treatment facility which is a good fit, meaning the treatment plan and design of the program would offer them the best results. The addicted person can then consult with one of the treatment professionals at the drug or alcohol treatment program to go over what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug rehabilitation facilities are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the individual to locate an equivalent or similar rehab program which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can get the help they so desperately need.
