Northeastern Mental Health Center offers the following services:

Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol treatment services which are delivered on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient treatment program. An outpatient substance abuse treatment program provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab facility where the person is expected to remain at the rehab center until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug rehabilitation is also offered for individuals who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but require a thorough aftercare program which will offer further support and treatment to help them avoid relapse.

Co-Occurring Mental with Substance Abuse Issues

Persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders must handle both issues if there is any hope for them to recover completely. Some individuals take drugs to ease symptoms of mental health problems, and some people take drugs which then, in turn, creates symptoms which are identical to mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety. Drug rehabilitation professionals know how to distinguish between the two, and can work with clients to appropriately treat real mental health disorders in tandem with any other substance abuse treatment that is done with the individual. This has proven to be effective in keeping individuals with mental health issues off of drugs and alcohol and mentally stable and happy.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug and alcohol rehab centers are a great alternative to other types of rehab centers i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. People who are capable of attending self payment programs pay for their entire rehab process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug treatment program. In order to learn more about self payment at a specific program, contact a substance abuse treatment program and inquire as to their payment options. It is beneficial to contact a number of programs so that you have an understanding of your choices with regards to rehab options and payment options.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is accessible to individuals in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other factors such as whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other financial assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug rehab, and there are a lot of drug rehab programs throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Many drug and alcohol treatment facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only deliver a limited treatment curriculum and may only supply such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. People who have Medicaid should research which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to acquire the full benefits of such a program.

Medicare Coverage

Drug addiction and alcoholism can effect many older Americans and seniors, and this issue is projected to only worsen in the coming years. Seniors who are covered through the Medicare program, an insurance plan funded through the federal government for Americans in this age bracket, can use their benefits to receive treatment services for drug or alcohol addiction at a wide variety of drug treatment facilities around the country. Medicare covers both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs, and seniors who wish to receive help can consult with their primary care physician to choose a treatment program covered by Medicare which would be suitable for them.

State Financed Insurance besides Medicaid

Some individuals are covered through state financed insurance because they do not qualify for Medicaid. Some states however offer affordable health insurance to those who cannot afford private health insurance. State financed health insurance programs will sometimes cover the costs associated with substance abuse treatment at a variety of drug rehabilitation centers around the country. State financed insurance other than Medicaid may cover both inpatient or outpatient drug rehab providers. To find out which rehab programs will accept state financed insurance, speak with a drug treatment advisor.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

When a person is addicted to drugs or alcohol and is seeking help, there are many effective drug rehabilitation programs accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term programs accept private health insurance, far more beneficial substance abuse rehab facilities which require an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These programs which accept private health insurance can vary in terms of treatment curriculum, but those individuals who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to attending a drug or alcohol rehab facility. For additional information, speak with with an addiction specialist at a drug rehabilitation program in your area to see which programs your private health insurance will cover.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug treatment can be a challenge, because typically all resources have been exhausted due to the persons addiction. Many drug rehab programs fully grasp this reality which is why many drug rehabilitation programs around the country offer payment arrangements known as a sliding scale fee. There are various factors put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug and alcohol rehab facilities would prefer to find a way to make it work financially so that those that need addiction help can get the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many substance abuse rehabilitation centers in the United States offer payment assistance to men and women suffering with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The individual in need of rehabilitation can choose a rehab program which ideally fits their situation, meaning the treatment plan and design of the program will supply them the best results. The addicted person can then consult with one of the treatment professionals at the drug rehabilitation center to go over what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug treatment facilities are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will usually work with the individual to find an equivalent or comparable rehab facility which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can receive the help they so desperately need.
