Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol treatment services which are delivered on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient treatment program. An outpatient substance abuse treatment program provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab facility where the person is expected to remain at the rehab center until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug rehabilitation is also offered for individuals who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but require a thorough aftercare program which will offer further support and treatment to help them avoid relapse.

It is not unusual for persons with HIV/AIDS to end up in an addiction rehabilitation center receiving help for serious addiction problems. Often people who abuse drugs and alcohol are predisposed to such diseases due to certain circumstances which afflict the drug culture such as sharing dirty syringes to inject drugs or becoming involved in risky sexual behavior because of lowered sexual inhibitions caused by drug use. Persons with HIV/AIDS should have effective rehabilitation just like any otherwise healthy addicted person. Drug rehab facilities that accept and cater to persons with HIV/AIDS offer specialized care to address any health issues that may come up in the course of treatment. Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers are a great alternative to other types of rehabilitation facilities i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. People who are capable of attending self payment programs pay for their entire rehab process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug rehabilitation program. In order to learn more about self payment at a specific program, make contact with a drug rehabilitation facility and ask about their payment options. It is a good idea to contact a number of facilities so that you have a comparison of your choices regarding treatment options and payment methods.

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is accessible to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other circumstances such as whether or not the person has dependents and if they receive any other financial assistance. Medicaid may even cover the costs associated with drug rehab, and there are many drug treatment centers throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Many drug rehabilitation programs which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only deliver such treatment on a short term basis, typically 30 days or less. Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug or alcohol treatment can be a challenge, as all resources have been exhausted due to their drug habit. Many drug treatment facilities fully grasp this fact which is why many drug and alcohol treatment programs across the nation provide payment arrangements known as a sliding scale fee. There are many factors put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug rehabilitation facilities would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those suffering with addiction can receive the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many drug rehabilitation programs in the United States offer payment assistance to people having difficulties with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The person in need of treatment can select a rehabilitation program which ideally fits their situation, meaning the treatment curriculum and design of the program will provide them the best results. The addicted individual can then seek advice from one of the treatment professionals at the drug or alcohol rehabilitation center to discuss what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug rehabilitation facilities are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the person to find an equivalent or comparable rehab program which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can acquire the rehabilitation they so desperately need.
