Outpatient Treatment

Drug treatment services which are delivered on an outpatient basis are available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient treatment center. An outpatient drug rehab center delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug or alcohol rehab facility where the individual is required to stay and reside at the rehabilitation program until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug or alcohol rehab is also available for individuals who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but also need a thorough aftercare program which will provide additional support and treatment to help them remain clean and sober.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs are an excellent alternative to other types of rehabilitation facilities i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. Individuals who are capable of attending self payment programs pay for their entire treatment process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug or alcohol rehabilitation program. To learn more about self payment at a specific program, contact a drug or alcohol treatment center and inquire as to their payment options. It is a good idea to contact a number of facilities so that you have a comparison of your choices regarding treatment options and payment options.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is made available to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid depends greatly on income and other circumstances including whether or not the person has dependents and if they receive any other financial assistance. Medicaid may possibly even cover the costs associated with drug or alcohol rehab, and there are many drug rehabilitation centers throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Many drug and alcohol treatment facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only provide a limited treatment curriculum and may only provide such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. Individuals who have Medicaid should look for which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to acquire the full rewards of such a program.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

If someone is addicted to drugs or alcohol and is seeking help, there are many effective drug treatment facilities accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term rehab facilities accept private health insurance, far more beneficial drug or alcohol treatment facilities which require an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These programs which accept private health insurance can differ in terms of treatment curriculum, but those individuals who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to paying for a drug treatment facility. For additional information, consult with a treatment professional at a drug rehabilitation facility in your area to find out which programs your private health insurance will cover.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug treatment can be a challenge, as all resources have been exhausted due to the persons addiction. Many drug rehab programs recognize this reality which is why many drug rehab facilities across the nation offer payment arrangements known as a sliding scale fee. There are various factors put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug rehabilitation programs would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those that need addiction help can get the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many drug treatment centers in the United States provide payment assistance to people suffering with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The individual in need of rehabilitation can choose a rehabilitation program which ideally fits their situation, meaning the treatment plan and design of the program would provide them the best results. The addicted person can then consult with one of the treatment professionals at the drug or alcohol rehab center to discuss what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug and alcohol rehab centers are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the person to find an equivalent or similar treatment facility which is more affordable or that can provide workable financing options so that they can get the rehabilitation they so desperately need.
