Outpatient Treatment

Drug treatment services which are provided on an outpatient basis are available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient rehabilitation program. An outpatient substance abuse treatment program offers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab program where the person is required to remain at the treatment program until the treatment process is complete. Outpatient drug rehabilitation is also available for those who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but require a thorough aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide further support and therapy to help them remain clean and sober.

Co-Occurring Mental with Substance Abuse Issues

Persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders must address both issues if there is any hope for them to recover completely. Some individuals take drugs or alcohol to alleviate symptoms of mental health problems, and some people take drugs which then, in turn, brings about symptoms which are identical to mental health disorders, such as anxiety and depression. Addiction rehabilitation professionals know how to differentiate between the two, and can work with clients to appropriately treat real mental health disorders in tandem with any other substance abuse treatment that is done with the person. This has proven to be effective in keeping individuals with mental health problems off of drugs and alcohol and mentally stable and productive.

Criminal Justice Client Programs

Criminal justice clients typically need drug treatment because of their problems with addiction. Due to the nature of the criminal justice system, there are specific steps and guidelines that must be completed in order to be accepted into a criminal justice substance abuse treatment center or recovery program. The initial step is to establish the criminal justice clients eligibility. This step is accomplished by a panel of officials who decide how much and what type of drug or alcohol is necessary. Often, the criminal justice clients obtain their drug and alcohol rehabilitation while they are incarcerated. For the best possible results, they are encouraged, if not strictly directed, to continue their recovery once they leave jail and enroll in a sober living home or a therapeutic community.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug treatment programs are a great alternative to other types of rehab programs i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. Individuals who are able to attend self payment programs pay for their entire treatment process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug rehab program. To learn more about self payment programs, contact a drug treatment center and inquire as to their payment options. It is a good idea to contact a number of programs so that you have an understanding of your choices with regards to treatment options and payment methods.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

If somebody is abusing drugs or alcohol and is looking for help, there are many effective substance abuse rehabilitation facilities accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term rehab facilities accept private health insurance, far more effective substance abuse rehab centers which offer an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These rehab facilities which accept private health insurance can differ in terms of treatment curriculum, but those individuals who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to paying for a drug or alcohol treatment program. For additional information, consult with a treatment professional at a substance abuse rehabilitation facility in your area to see which programs your private health insurance will cover.
