Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol rehab services which are offered on an outpatient basis are readily available to addicted individuals who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to participate in an inpatient treatment facility. An outpatient drug and alcohol treatment center delivers many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug treatment program where the person is required to stay and reside at the treatment facility until treatment has been fully completed. Outpatient drug rehab is also offered for those who have already gone through residential or inpatient treatment but also need a comprehensive aftercare program which will offer further support and treatment to help them avoid relapse.

Co-Occurring Mental with Substance Abuse Issues

Persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders must address both issues if there is any hope for them to recover completely. Some individuals take drugs or alcohol to alleviate symptoms of mental health disorders, and some people take drugs which then, in turn, brings about symptoms which are identical to mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression. Addiction rehabilitation professionals know how to differentiate between the two, and can work with clients to correctly treat real mental health disorders in tandem with any other substance abuse treatment that is done with the individual. This has proven to be effective in keeping people with mental health issues off of drugs and alcohol and mentally stable and healthy.

Seniors/Older Adult Services

Whether it is evident or not, seniors and older adults encompass a considerable percentage of individuals in the United States who struggle with drug and/or alcohol abuse and addiction. As the baby boomer generation ages, this will become an even bigger problem with an even bigger need for drug rehabilitation centers which are prepared to treat seniors and older adults who are in need of treatment for addiction issues. Seniors and older adults are faced with many physical challenges as a result of their age, which can have an impact on treatment outcome if not addressed concurrently. It is beneficial for seniors and older adults to find rehabilitation before any long term consequences occur.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment drug and alcohol treatment facilities are a great alternative to other types of rehab facilities i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. Individuals who are able to attend self payment programs pay for their entire rehabilitation process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug or alcohol rehabilitation program. To learn more about self payment at a specific program, contact a drug or alcohol treatment facility and inquire as to their payment options. It is a good idea to contact several facilities so that you have a comparison of your choices with regards to treatment options and payment options.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is offered to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid depends greatly on income and other circumstances such as whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may possibly even cover the costs associated with drug or alcohol rehab, and there are many drug and alcohol treatment programs throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug and alcohol treatment facilities which are covered through Medicaid may only deliver a limited treatment curriculum and may only deliver such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. Individuals who have Medicaid should explore which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full rewards of such a program.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

When a person is addicted to drugs or alcohol and is seeking help, there are many effective substance abuse treatment facilities accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term programs accept private health insurance, far more beneficial drug rehab facilities which provide an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These programs which accept private health insurance can differ in terms of treatment curriculum, but those individuals who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to paying for a drug or alcohol treatment facility. For additional information, speak with with an addiction specialist at a drug rehabilitation center in your area to see which services your private health insurance will cover.
