Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol rehab programs which are provided on an outpatient basis are available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehabilitation program. An outpatient drug and alcohol rehab program provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab center where the person is required to stay and reside at the treatment facility until the treatment process is complete. Outpatient drug or alcohol treatment is also offered for individuals who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but also need a comprehensive aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide further support and therapy to help them avoid relapse.

Co-Occurring Mental with Substance Abuse Issues

Persons with co-occurring mental and substance abuse disorders must handle both issues if there is any hope for them to become fully rehabilitated. Some people take drugs to relieve symptoms of mental health problems, and some people take drugs which then, in turn, brings about symptoms which mimic mental health disorders, such as depression and anxiety. Drug treatment professionals know how to distinguish between the two, and can work with clients to correctly treat real mental health disorders in tandem with any other substance abuse treatment that is done with the individual. This has proven to be effective in keeping individuals with mental health problems off of drugs and mentally stable and productive.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug or alcohol treatment can be a challenge, as all resources have been exhausted due to the persons drug habit. Many drug treatment programs understand this reality which is why many drug treatment programs around the country offer payment arrangements known as a sliding scale fee. There are various variables put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug rehabilitation facilities would prefer to find a way to make it work financially so that those that need addiction help can get the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers in the United States provide payment assistance to men and women struggling with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The person in need of rehabilitation can select a rehabilitation facility which ideally fits their situation, meaning the treatment curriculum and design of the program will provide them the best results. The addicted individual can then talk to one of the treatment professionals at the drug rehabilitation facility to go over what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug and alcohol treatment centers are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will often work with the person to find an equivalent or comparable rehabilitation facility which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can acquire the help they so desperately need.
