Outpatient Treatment

Drug or alcohol rehab programs which are provided on an outpatient basis are available to addicted people who have circumstances which prevent them from being able to take part in an inpatient rehabilitation program. An outpatient drug and alcohol rehab program provides many of the same services as an inpatient program, but allows for flexibility as opposed to an inpatient drug rehab center where the person is required to stay and reside at the treatment facility until the treatment process is complete. Outpatient drug or alcohol treatment is also offered for individuals who have completed residential or inpatient treatment but also need a comprehensive aftercare and relapse prevention program which will provide further support and therapy to help them avoid relapse.

Self Pay (Out of Pocket)

Self payment substance abuse rehab centers are a great alternative to other types of treatment programs i.e. private medical insurance and state funded facilities. People who are capable of attending self payment programs pay for their entire rehabilitation process out of pocket. Keep in mind though, this does not mean that they will not have access to financial assistance if needed. It just means that self payment is their primary method of covering the cost of their drug rehab program. In order to learn more about self payment at a specific program, contact a substance abuse rehab center and inquire as to their payment options. It is a good idea to contact several facilities so that you have a comparison of your choices regarding rehab options and payment options.

Medicaid Coverage

Medicaid is a type of health insurance which is accessible to people in certain low-income tax brackets. Eligibility for Medicaid is dependent on income and other factors including whether or not the individual has dependents and if they receive any other assistance. Medicaid may possibly even cover the costs associated with drug or alcohol treatment, and there are a lot of drug and alcohol rehab centers throughout the country which are covered through Medicaid. Most drug treatment programs which are covered through Medicaid may only deliver a limited treatment curriculum and may only provide such treatment on a short term basis, usually 30 days or less. People who have Medicaid should explore which programs cover the greatest amount of treatment for the most amount of time to reap the full rewards of a Medicaid rehab program.

Private or Personal Health Insurance

If an individual is addicted to drugs or alcohol and is seeking help, many effective drug treatment programs accept private health insurance. Whereas some outpatient and short term rehab facilities accept private health insurance, far more beneficial drug rehab programs which offer an inpatient or residential stay for at least 90 days are also an available option. These programs which accept private health insurance can differ in terms of treatment curriculum, but those individuals who are covered by private health insurance are fortunate enough to have financial assistance when it comes to paying for a drug rehabilitation program. For more information, consult with a treatment professional at a drug rehabilitation center in your area to find out which services your private health insurance will cover.

Income Based Payment (Sliding Scale)

Paying for drug rehab can be a challenge, as all resources have been exhausted because of the persons addiction. Many drug rehab facilities recognize this fact which is why many drug and alcohol rehab facilities around the country offer payment options known as a sliding scale fee. There are various factors put into the equation of determining what the fee will be from person to person, and these factors are based on individual circumstances such as income, cash on hand, living circumstances, the size of one's family etc. Sliding scale fees have been in use for some time as most drug treatment programs would rather find a way to make it work financially so that those that need addiction help can get the help they need.

Payment Assistance (based on Facility)

Many drug and alcohol treatment programs in the United States offer payment assistance to men and women suffering with drug or alcohol addiction and want to get help. The person in need of treatment can select a treatment program which ideally fits their situation, meaning the treatment curriculum and design of the program would supply them the best results. The addicted person can then consult with one of the treatment professionals at the drug or alcohol treatment facility to discuss what kind of payment assistance options are available or that they qualify for. The financial department in most drug and alcohol rehab programs are more than willing to work with potential clients to get them started by offering payment assistance, and if this is unavailable, treatment professionals will typically work with the individual to locate an equivalent or similar treatment facility which is more affordable or that can offer workable financing options so that they can acquire the rehabilitation they so desperately need.
